Dear family and friends. It's me again---your marathon runner! I'm planning to run for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the PF Chang's Rock & Roll Phoenix Marathon on January 15, 2006.

Sharon Teague McCain was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia, June, 1999 and began her long journey to health. She haas been treated at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL and at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She has had chemotherapy, radiation and two trachs, She has been close to death several times, and lost her battle Feb, 2004!

Sharon believes completely in the goodness and the promises of God and in the power of prayer. She puts her total trust in God, To God be the Glory.
Sharon (born in 1941) and Doug have 3 sons, 3 daughters-in-law, and 5 granddaughters.

Each TNT athlete volunteer trains and competes in honor of a Leukemia or Lymphoma victim. You all know about Sharon McCain, "the Purple Lady", my friend who lost her battle with chronic myelogenous leukemia in February 2004. She has been my inspiration since early in 2003 when I became involved with run. I carried her memory with me while training for and running Disney World Marathons in 2004 and 2005. She was in my thoughts while working toward tlie Alaska :Marathon in 2004, which I was unfortunately unable to complete. Well, I'm back and for Sharon and the many other victims of this terrible illness and with the guidance and coach fromTNT and encouragement of all my friends and family I will cross the finish line in January.

My goal is to raise $4,000 in donations by October 31. The generous donations of family and friends like you will help to fund research, patient services and education programs.
