Traditional Usui Reiki involves three levels or degrees as created by Hawayo Takata. A practitioner is initiated by a series of attunements, which opens the flow of universal healing energy. The training includes the history, scientific evidence of Reiki energy, how to prepare to give a Reiki treatment, how to prepare a room for Reiki and the various techniques for performing Reiki treatments.

•Level 1 Reiki connects the practitioner to the Reiki energy and teaches hands-on Reiki
•Level II Reiki teaches the practitioner long distance or remote healing
•Level III Reiki initiates the practitioner to become a Reiki Master

Each level has its own set of attunements and techniques for the type of Reiki to be practiced. Once a person has received these attunements, they are Reiki practitioners capable of channeling the Reiki energy. Reiki initiations are for life.

You will find a variety of fees and lengths of time for Reiki classes with different Reiki Masters. Some require a minimum fee while others require a fee of up to $10,000 for a Reiki Master Certificate.
