We are delighted to welcome you to CafeV'Ivrit. The purpose of this group is to give us an opportunity to speak Hebrew in an encouraging and forgiving atmosphere. We welcome beginner and higher level Hebrew speakers.
I am not the teacher and there is no designated teacher for this group. We do have a volunteer NATIVE Hebrew speaker (Elisha) on most Fridays to help us speak correct Hebrew. Also, there are no dues.
We meet between 11:30-1pm on Zoom the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month and IN-PERSON at the JCC ( either at the Coffee Bean or the Gallery, depending on which is available) on the rest of the Fridays.
In order to encourage conversation on a variety of topics, I come up with a question every week for all participants to speak their answer in Hebrew.
The Zoom meeting is the more structured meeting where in addition to the general conversation and question activities, we read together 3 articles from the newspaper, Yanshuf. We use the vocabulary and vowel aids.
I believe that the group is about an intermediate level for speaking Hebrew. But you can get out of it what you put into your endeavor. I hope to meet you soon at one of our meetings..
