Costs and payment

• Some insurers have begun to reimburse for this treatment (though Medicare does not yet cover TMS). We will provide you with the documentation for reimbursement claims.

• The initial psychiatric consultation to make sure TMS is medically appropriate is pro-rated at $250 per hour. Such consultations usually last 45 minutes. 

• Each treatment session costs $200 (from 1 June 2010, this charge will rise to $225)-
  it lasts approximately 45 minutes  (compare this to the charges made by others for this form of treatment – $350 to $500 per session: Dr Mohns, the head of our clinic, believes such rates are not appropriate and may prevent many patients from getting badly needed care). 

• Payment is sought weekly during the delivery of treatment. 

• Please ask about financing options with either a 6 month or 12 month plan through Care Credit.
